Message from the President

The St. Regis Columbiettes are a unified body of catholic women founded on March 9th, 1962. Working side-by-side with the St. Regis Knights they promote a true sense of Catholic values through various community, Right to Life and family projects.

The Blue Circle in the Columbiettes' emblem represents the World. The White Cross represents Christ's Love for us - by His Crucifixion, He redeemed the World. The Rays represent our zeal to serve God through the mediums of Faith, Hope and Charity; symbolized by the Three White Stars.

Blessed Mother,
Columbiette Patroness

Membership in the Columbiettes is open women 17 years of age and older who are practicing Catholics in union with the Holy See. Give your name and phone number to any Columbiette or click here to fill out an online form and a member of the membership committee will contact you.

My Dear Sister Columbiettes,

First off, I would like to say Welcome to the 11 new ladies that joined our family. All of you have joined the best Columbiette organization in Suffolk County and I hope you get involved and enjoy your time with us!

I think I’m still amazed with how wonderful the Soup Dinner and 1st degree/meeting turned out to be. The degree team really did an outstanding job, and I would like to say Thank You to Annette Vitalino the entire degree team for a job well done. I would also like to say Thank You to Rosemary McMenamin and everyone who jumped in and helped her prepare the dinner. All the soups were fabulous! Thank You to all the Knights and Columbiettes who jumped in to assist both in the kitchen and upstairs before, during, and after the meeting. I
couldn’t have done it without you all. And of course I can’t forget to say Thank you to Maria Gillin who came both before and after the meeting to help.

Another great afternoon was the Birthright Shower held at BLD’s. I could not believe all the beautiful items everyone donated. I would like to say Thank you to Catherine West for doing a wonderful job chairing this event, and to each of you that joined us in supporting such a worthy cause.

We also had our trip to Mohegan Sun, and it was literally a sell-out crowd. I would like to say Thank You to Rosemary and Gerry McMenamin for chairing this highly successful event. Who knew we had so many lucky people in our midsts.

It was so nice to see all of you that came to our Easter Mass, and to Jo Ann Turkovich for providing the refreshments. I think one of the most important things we do as members of St. Regis is to come together as a family and celebrate God’s grace.

Our Elections will take place at the May meeting. All positions are open and the only requirement is that you must be a Major Degree member in good standing. The newly elected officers will take over July 1st 2009.

Just a reminder, the May Columbiettes meeting will begin at 7:30 for the Crowning of Mary and a decade of the Rosary. Please bring your Rosary beads. I look forward to seeing you all there.Thank you for all your support!

Regards,

Colleen Wyman
